Who cares that I fired two bullets and busted late on Day 1A, putting a nice dent in my poker bankroll...at some point during level 8 or so, I see Andrew Neeme walking over to our table and he takes a seat directly to my right. We chit chat, play a few hands, etc...I did shove on him once with 88 pre-flop BvB :)
Then Brad Owen comes by to chat and I meet him as well. After I busted we chatted for just a little while. Both guys were super cool and I think what they’re doing with their vlogs and MUGs really helps the poker community grow.

Hit this one today on our way thru. 1pm on a Thursday, one table open $5 min $100 max (I believe this is a table max per state law). Max 10x odds. All tall small on the table. Saw them make em all while we were there, of course when we didn’t have any money in. Good crew, very friendly and helpful. Cocktail service was mediocre but they do have comp booze which is a plus for those of us traveling from the Great Plains. There was one other table, not open, in the isle plus one other in “lady luck” which is another casino attached. Did not find any of the famed $2 min tables, at least at this time. This place is worth a visit. I may try to do a combo biking/casino trip this way later in the year and explore the other casinos in Blackhawk and Central city.

Frequent Lake Charles go-er here, I was just wondering if anyone else on here is the same? If so you know that 2:30 struggle to get there lol.
I really enjoy the isle casino over there in lake Charles. 5 dollar minimums if you get there early enough. Last time I went the shootwr next to me hit the ATS. First time I’ve ever been on it!!

Moving down south to Pompano Beach for the summer and was thinking of renting a villa. However, just found out that crime rates are more frequent than anywhere else in Florida. Should I be worried? The villa is near Isle Casino Racing.

I learned a lot of good stuff relating to poker playing in S. Florida over the past 2 days. Maybe learned isn't appropriate, but I had a lot of good things reinforced. If you're looking for groundbreaking stuff, wrong post...
1 - leave a game when you aren't at your best. I played 3 games, played well in 2, but the second time, I felt myself tilting, but my ego talked me into staying... And losing almost 3 buyins.
2 - it's okay to have a losing session. The bad session was compounded by the space between my ears. No doubt, I was dealt shit cards, and when I was dealt something decent, I looked like a middle school kid trying to hit a curve off of Greg Maddux, but I compounded that by allowing #1 to take place.
3 - don't bluff calling stations. They call you down with anything. This combined with #1 cost me the majority of my losses. I think I can easily attribute $300-$350 in session two to this, which is just compounded by #1
4 - clear your mind between sessions. After a losing 3 hr session, I went to a nice dinner, had great conversation with a co-worker, then looked over my notes from the previous session. I recounted how to play in the situations I was put in, changed into more comfortable clothes, then went back for another three hour session.
5 - tighten up...a lot when the table is hyper aggressive. I picked much better spots, made one bad lay down, but overall ran well and maximized my big hands. Sure it's easy to win when you run well, but taking a break and having a clear approach is one thing I feel was key to maximizing profits.
6 - everyone knows when you're on tilt. Figured this out when another guy in my third session was tilting off his roll. Was so easy to target him.
